1.) LRRH is an abstinence based program. Clients are expected to abstain from alcohol and mood altering chemicals. Clients not abstaining from alcohol/mood altering chemicals could result in discharge. Bringing substances into the facility could also result in legal charges being filed and/or law enforcement involvement.
2.) During the first forty-eight hours clients will be placed on “In-House” status. Throughout this time clients may not leave LRRH grounds without counselor approval. Recovery meetings are an exception.
3.) During the first week at LRRH clients will be placed on “Admission Restriction”. Clients with this status may leave the LRRH grounds with a staff approved buddy or with counselor’s approval.
4.) Leaving the grounds: When clients leave LRRH grounds they must notify staff verbally, and fill out the sign-out log with specific destination(s). Upon return, all clients must also report to staff verbally, and sign-in on the log. Clients are expected to return by curfew (10:30 pm weeknights M-T) and (12 midnight on Friday and Saturday). Return time on Sunday is 5:30pm. Curfew on Holidays- Exceptions can be made at times only at counselor and or staffs discretion. Clients can sign out for a period of four (4) hours, unless they have received permission to be gone longer than four hours (example; Work) prior to leaving. Also in cases of extreme weather (cold or heat) clients will be unable to sign out unless they have reliable mode of transportation and will not be exposed to the elements so that it becomes a danger to their health.
5.) Clients are responsible for making their own appointments and scheduling transportation. Clients must also notify their counselor of all court dates, medical/ psychological appointments and cancellations. A doctor summary form must be taken to your appointments and completed by physician and signed before any medications changes will be made.
6.) UA’s or breathalyzers may be requested by any staff member at any time for any reason.
UA PROTOCOL FOR CLIENTS
- Clients must remain within sight of staff until the UA is submitted. If clients leave their seat without staff permission, the UA is considered a failure to provide.
- Clients have a maximum of 2 hours after being asked to provide a UA. If the client takes more than 2 hours to submit the UA, it may be considered failure to provide.
- Staff must be present while clients are submitting a UA.
- Staff has the right to “watch and listen” while clients submit a UA.
- Attempts at falsifying a UA may result in immediate discharge.
7.) Passes: During the first month, clients may be eligible for one 24hr pass, the second month two 48hr passes, the third month one 48hr Pass every week, except last week. Clients are expected to find a peer to do their therapeutic duties while on pass. Clients must return from weekend passes no later than 5:30pm Sunday. Clients who return later than 5:30pm will lose future passes opportunities. Requests must be turned into the tech office no later than Tuesday night. Techs will turn passes into the counselor. *No 48hr passes during Alano All City meeting weekends*
8.) EMPLOYMENT: Unless a student, disabled, retired, or unable to work, clients are expected to actively seek and obtain/maintain employment while residing at LRRH. An ROI to the employer must be authorized by any client who is approved for employment. Clients who are employed must attend all group therapy sessions. Clients must provide a work schedule to staff. Those who are not employed will be given more duties to avoid idleness.
9.) CLIENT PHONE: The client phone (998-3280) is located in the “Card Room”. No messages shall be recorded on the answering machine. Clients are urged to instruct their loved ones to call the staff phone line (739-9084) in the event of an emergency occurring after 10:00 pm. The client phone must remain within the main floor common areas at all times and may not be used after bed time.
10.) ELECTRONIC DEVICES: Personal electronics are allowed at LRRH at the discretion of the Treatment Director. The term “electronic devices” may include but is not limited to: cell phones, computers, gaming devices, radios, and tablets.
- Electronic devices may be used from 7:00am until 10:00pm. At 10:00pm it is “QUIET TIME”
- Any device may not be used during all mandatory group sessions or one-on-one sessions, supper, supper cleanup, and nightly chores, and meditation.
- Clients may not use any electronic devices in bedrooms from 10:00pm to 7:00am. This includes cell phones. The staff phone line number is 739-9084
- This line may be used by clients to receive incoming emergency phone calls after bedtime.
If a client’s cell phone usage becomes a problem, i.e. being on it late hours of the night and not being able to get up in the morning, it will be taken away until the problem is corrected. There will be absolutely no exceptions to this rule.
11.) TELEVISION: The television will be turned off from 9:00am to 2:00pm every week day, unless authorized by staff, and during all group sessions and activities. Clients may watch TV Sunday-Thursday until 11:00pm, Friday and Saturday until 1:00am. The TV may be turned on at 6:00am. All content viewed through the TV is subject to staff discretion. Xbox is a gaming device and is not allowed after 10pm.
12.) SMOKING: Smoking is allowed only in designated areas Clients are expected to keep designated smoking area clean and free of cigarette butts, and trash. Please encourage all to follow these rules or it can and will result in a premises smoking ban!
13.) VISITORS: Visiting hours is from 9:00am to 9:00pm daily, except during group sessions. Visitors are not allowed in bedrooms. Visiting is done either on the main floor, basement group room, or out by smoke area. Guests under the age of eighteen are not allowed to smoke on the premises. All visiting children must be supervised by a guardian/parent at all times. If a C.H.I.P.S. petition exists, permission must be granted by the client’s child protective worker prior to the visit. LRRH staff does not supervise visits.
14.) NAPPING: Napping is not permitted. In certain circumstances staff may allow napping. If a client is sick he may be put on “Sick Pass” Clients who are sick may not enter the kitchen.
15.) HYGIENE: Clients are expected to practice good personal hygiene. Clients must bathe daily and must launder all dirty clothes weekly. Clients are not to get any new tattoos while staying at LRRH.
16.) BED LINENS: Clients are required to strip their bed linens on Wednesdays, only sheets and pillows cases, and put them in basket by office. A clean set will be given for you to remake your bed. If you need to wash your blanket or quilts you may do so.
17.) LOST OR STOLEN POLICY: LRRH is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Upon admission, any personal valuables or items that are not allowed at this facility will be locked up and given back at day of discharge. Any incidences of theft will involve law enforcement and may result in discharge.
18.) CASH ON -HAND: For your safety it is advised that clients do not keep more than $50.00 on-hand during your stay here at LRRH. Please make arrangements to keep your money in a savings and/or checking account or some other secure alternative source. Do not lend money to other clients. Do not engage in any selling of personal property while residing here. Gambling is prohibited.
19.) CLIENT VEHICLES: Clients may not operate motor vehicles or bicycles belonging to other clients. In order for clients to store and use a motor vehicle at LRRH, the following conditions need to be met: No exceptions!
a.) clients must provide a copy of a valid Minnesota driver’s license
b.) clients must provide proof of insurance for the vehicle
c.) clients must provide a copy of the vehicle registration
d.) clients need approval from the Director
20.) Any mail may be given to the DIRECTOR before it is given out to the clients. That would be at the staff’s discretion. Ex. Inquiry about the content therein may be asked for.
21.) MEDICATIONS: Clients are to take medications as prescribed by a physician. Morning meds must be administered from 7:00am to 8:00am every day, before morning meditation. Pm medication times are 8:00pm to 10:00pm. After taking sleep medication, clients must remain on LRRH grounds. Clients are responsible for refilling their prescriptions and are required to bring them to staff unopened. Over the Counter Medications– Clients will adhere to the standing orders policies for all over the counter medications. All meds prescribed or OTC med’s, are to be given to staff unopened. If we find OTC meds in a client’s bedroom, you can be immediately discharged for not following policy.
22.) WAKE UP 6:45am weekdays and at 9:30am on weekends. LRRH Holidays are as follows: Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s.
23.) LRRH will exercise a zero tolerance policy regarding physical violence, threats of violence and any form of harassment. Law enforcement will be involved in such incidents Clients are to treat others with respect and common courtesy. Profanity and or the use of vulgar/inappropriate language are unacceptable. Clients are encouraged to help one another become aware of this habit.
24.) MANDATORY CLIENT MEETINGS:
- Clients are expected to be on time for all CLIENT MEETINGS. CELL PHONES ARE TO BE TURNED OFF!
- Morning meditation: Clients are expected to be present at morning meditation, conducted daily from 8:00am to 8:30am Monday through Friday. At 8:30am you are expected to attend the “What are we doing today” session at the white board.
- On Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays meditation is from 10:00am to 10:30am. White board does not apply.
- My Brother’s Keeper Meeting: On Sunday evening this meeting is conducted at 7:00pm. Only clients attend this meeting.
25.) Discharge: All towels, sheets, pillows, alarm clocks, and laundry baskets. All must be accounted for before you will be allowed the leave the premises.
You are to pick up your room including taking out your garbage. Leave the pillows on bed. Put the sheets, comforter, and towels into laundry basket and bring it to the tech on duty.
MEALS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE EATEN ANY WHERE OTHER THAN IN THE DINING ROOM

Supper is at 5:00pm (Mon-Thurs) Group Nights
Presence at supper is mandatory unless absence is approved by staff.
All clients are expected to do their own dishes throughout the day. Only in the evening are there specific people assigned to dishes. If the dish rack is full, put it in sanitizer, finished dishes, put them away. Wipe off counter tops etc.
Staff are responsible for cleaning up prep dishes/pots/pans. Therapeutic duties follow supper. No one is allowed to leave until all duties are complete.
There will be a bedroom deep clean on Wednesday evenings.
